J.P. CORMIER wins ECMA Folk Album of the Year: Forms exciting new partnership with Yamaha Music Canada Ltd.

HALIFAX, March 02, 2006 -- In what can only be described as a enormously successful weekend, J.P. Cormier has returned from the ECMA conference in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island with the Folk Album of the Year award for his critically acclaimed “The Long River: A Personal Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot”, and kudos for his dynamic new trio. Music industry professionals from home and abroad were bowled over by what J.P. and his band presented throughout the five day conference with their electrifying combined sets of original songs and awe inspiring instrumental showcase pieces.

An exciting new national endorsement with Yamaha Music Canada was the event highlight for Cormier. He was offered an exclusive national endorsement - the highest level endorsement possible, which includes a full marketing campaign of their high-end Chronos handcrafted acoustic guitars, and Yamaha presented guitar clinics.

Chris Seldon, Guitar Product Specialist for Yamaha Canada had this to say; “We are extremely happy that J.P has chosen our LL and Silent guitars to play live. He is a monster player, a great songwriter and person. We are looking forward to long successful partnership between Yamaha and J.P.” >> more
