CORMIER receives four ECMA nominations: Announcement made
on one year anniversary of “The Long River”
release
HALIFAX,
NS – January 11, 2006 – Exactly one year after
the release of “The Long River: A Personal Tribute
to Gordon Lightfoot”, The East Coast Music Association
(ECMA) has announced it’s industry and music award
nominees for 2006, to be awarded at the association’s
annual conference taking place February 23-27 in Charlottetown,
PEI. Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter J.P. Cormier
has been recognized in four categories – Album of
the Year and Folk Recording of the Year for “The Long
River”, Single of the Year for “Blackbird”
from the recently released “Looking Back: Volume 2
– The Songs”, and the coveted Entertainer of
the Year category.
The
Entertainer of the Year award is the only award voted on
by the public. Voting begins January 25 by phone at 1.900.870.ECMA,
online at www.ecma.com, and via text messaging. Only one
vote per computer is tabulated, and calls are 99 cents per
