A timeless tribute Cormier pays homage to Lightfoot, one of his favourite Canadian music icons on Long River

By STEPHEN COOKE / Entertainment Reporter

ANYTIME CHETICAMP musician J.P. Cormier talks about his songwriting influences, the first name to crop up is Gordon Lightfoot.

Those who've been fortunate enough to see Cormier live can testify to his devotion to the Canadian song icon's work when he throws in a cover of one of his tunes.

Cormier officially launches the disc on Tuesday night at Neptune's Studio Theatre. Tickets are $21.50 at the Neptune box office (429-7070 or toll-free at 1-800-565-7345. >> more
