A
timeless tribute Cormier pays homage to Lightfoot, one
of his favourite Canadian music icons on Long River

ANYTIME
CHETICAMP musician J.P. Cormier talks about his songwriting
influences, the first name to crop up is Gordon Lightfoot.
Those
who've been fortunate enough to see Cormier live can testify
to his devotion to the Canadian song icon's work when
he throws in a cover of one of his tunes.
But
in all the years he's been playing, and all the miles
he's travelled, Cormier has never had the chance to sit
in the crowd and watch Lightfoot perform, a fact that
seems even more incredible when you hear that his latest
record is The Long River: A Personal Tribute to Gordon
Lightfoot.
Cormier
officially launches the disc on Tuesday night at Neptune's
Studio Theatre. Tickets are $21.50 at the Neptune box
office (429-7070 or toll-free at 1-800-565-7345. >>
