Classified
earns six Music Nova Scotia nods
In-Flight Safety, Grant, Cormier, Davis among most nominated
artists

Urban
artist Classified topped the nominees’ list when the
10th Annual Nova Scotia Music Awards were announced on Wednesday
at a news conference aboard the Tall Ship Silva on the Halifax
waterfront.
Pop-rock
quartet In-Flight Safety earned five nods, while singer-songwriter
Jenn Grant, multi-instrumentalist J.P. Cormier
and new artist Tanya Davis captured four nominations each.
The
awards will be presented on Nov. 12 at The Astor Theatre
in Liverpool, during Nova Scotia Music Week, which is being
held for the first time outside of Halifax.
Slated
for Nov. 9 to 12, Nova Scotia Music Week features 18 showcases
including The Songwriter’s Circle at the Astor Theatre
on Nov. 11, roots/blues showcases at The Mersey House Nov.
10 and 11, pop/jazz showcases at Lane’s Privateer
Inn Nov. 10 and 11, rock/urban showcases at Dooly’s
Nov. 10 and 11, the first-ever Christian showcase to be
held at Zion United Church Nov. 12 and an all-ages show
on Nov. 10 with a location to be announced.
Halifax
producer and emcee Classified was nominated for male recording
of the year for Boy-Cott in the Industry, entertainer of
the year, songwriter of the year, video of the year for
No Mistakes/Problems, hip hop recording of the year and
