Cormier
prepares to release guitar tablature book: Launch is scheduled
within days of highly successful National Folk Festival
appearance
HALIFAX
- October 12, 2005 - J.P. CORMIER tomorrow releases his
two years in the making, 100 page guitar tablature book,
“Primary Color: The Owner’s Manual”. Written
by Cormier and transcribed by Russell Sawler, the book is
a companion tool to Cormier’s award winning album
“Primary Color… a guitar collection” unlocking
all of the tricks and techniques, note for note, as they
are heard on the recording. The volume includes intricately
detailed tablature, as well as Cormier’s own insights
into his playing style and the styles of those who have
influenced him the most. The book, which was available for
a busy pre-sell period on Cormier’s web site, will
be officially released tomorrow at the Guitar Summit, Celtic
Colours International Festival.
www.celtic-colours.com .
The
launch is scheduled just days after Cormier left audiences
cheering at The National Folk Festival in Richmond Virginia.
Presented by the National Council for the Traditional Arts,
the National Folk Festival is the oldest multi-cultural
traditional arts celebration in the United States. Cormier
joined a roster including such notable artists as Dervish,
Hayden Thompson, and the legendary Ralph Stanley, and was
the TOP SELLING artist of the event. Canadian Honorary Consul
to Richmond, Mr. Bill Benos, formally invited Cormier as
special guest to his delegate reception recognizing Canada’s
contribution to the National Folk Festival, past and present,
and to the traditional arts in general.
